Chinese Association of Agricultural Economics
Chinese Association of Agricultural Economics (CAAE) is a not-for-profit society serving the professional interests of members working in agricultural and broadly related fields of economics. Members of the CAAE are affiliated with academic or government institutions, as well as in industry and not-for-profit organizations, and engage in a variety of teaching, research, management, and extension/outreach activities. CAAE pursue missions to facilitate the development of agricultural economics and the growth of the rural economy, as well as the modernization of agriculture.
CAAE was approved by and registered to the Ministry of Civil Affairs, PRC. It operates under the guidance and supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Civil Affairs. Since its establishment in October 1978, CAAE has been affiliated with the Institute of Agricultural Economics, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. CAAE used to be a subordinate body of the China Association of Agricultural Science before it was approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs to be registered as a primary level society on October 22, 1991. CAAE upholds the Four Fundamental Principles and the Policy of Reform and Opening-up, abides by the Constitution, laws, regulations, policies, as well as social morals and prevailing customs.
Chinese Association of Agro-Technical Economic
Chinese Association of Agro-Technical Economics (CAATE) is a nationwide non-profit society serving the professional interests of members who are enthusiastic about agro-technical economics. Members of the CAATE are affiliated with academic, or government institutions, as well as in industry and not-for-profit organizations, and engage in a variety of teaching, research, management, and extension/outreach activities. Established in 1978, CAATE was approved by and registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, PRC. CAATE now has 217 board members.
CAATE engages in activities within its scope of service: (1) to organize various academic conferences, workshops, seminars and other academic activities; (2) to organize and coordinate special investigations in agro-technical economics as well as impact evaluations; (3) to disseminate basic knowledge of agro-technical economies via providing various training courses, publishing books or handbooks on agro-technical economics; (4) to undertake programs entrusted by government departments and entities, provide suggestions, recommend research findings, and put forward the opinions and requirements of agro-technical economists; (5) to carry out international academic exchange activities; and (6) to edit and publish the Journal of Agro-technical Economics as well as other relevant academic materials.
China association of agricultural technical and economic research is the predecessor of CAATE, which was established in October 1978 and used to be branch of Chinese Association of Agricultural Economics. In December 1993, with both the approvals of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the association was upgraded to become a primary level society and officially renamed as China Association of Agricultural Technical and Economic Research, affiliated to the Institute of Agricultural Economics and development, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. In July 2012, with the approval of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, it was renamed as Chinese Association of Agro-Technical Economics.
The Agricultural Economics Society of Japan (AESJ) was established in 1924 for the purpose of fostering academic research and development in the field of Agricultural Economics, and promoting sound ruraldevelopment and agricultural industry in Japan. The AESJ has one of the longest histories of the many social science-related organizations that exist in Japan today.
The AESJ publishes the Japanese-language quarterly research bulletin, Nogyo Keizai Kenkyu (e.g., Journal of Rural Economics). Presently, the series has reached Volume more than 80. Since 1999, the AESJ additionally publishes The Japanese Journal of Agricultural Economics in English for the purpose of disseminating academic work pertaining to Japanese agriculture world-wide.
The Asian Journal of Agriculture and Development (AJAD), an international refereed journal first published in 2004, provides information and analysis on topics within the broad scope of agriculture and development.
As the official journal of the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), it promotes greater awareness of the latest findings in research, state-of-the-art technologies, new methodologies, and policy concerns in inclusive and sustainable agricultural and rural development. It publishes articles resulting from empirical, policy-oriented, or institutional development studies, as well as articles of perspectives on agriculture and development; political economy of rural development; and trade issues.
Published twice a year in June and December, AJAD is indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) of the Web of Science (WoS), EBSCO Information Services, Research Papers in Economics (RePec), AgEcon Search, Socio-economic Research Portal for the Philippines (SERP-P), CAB Abstracts, ASEAN Citation Index (ACI), The Essential Electronic Agricultural Library (TEEAL), and Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC).
